I still get goosebumps everytime I see it. There is just something about Cole's Triplane. And you can reach out and touch it! I took this closeup when I was making a model/CD shelf based on Coles tripe. Basically the front half of a tripe sticking out of the wall looking at ya.

CADET, IT WAS 8-10 YEARS AGO. IT SEEMS LIKE $1800 OR SOME INCREDIBLE AMOUNT WAS THE FEE. IN MY NOTES I HAVE A # FOR THE UCLA FILM AND TV ARCHIVES. 310-825-5761. I HAD NO COMPUTER THEN,MAYBE THAT COULD BE A WAY OF FINDING THAT SHOW OF SHOWS.
I WAS ALSO LOOKING FOR FOOTAGE OF COLE'S CAMPAGIN FOR "THOSE MAGNIFCENT MEN...." HE WENT TO 6 CITIES,SOMEWHERE THERE MUST BE SOME NEWSREELS. I GOT SOME STILLS FROM THE SAME FLUSHING AIRPORT (THEY DID SOME GALA FOR THOSE MAGNIFCENT MEN) THAT THE THOMAS PUSHER WAS FLOWN TO. THE BLERIOT, AND ORNITHOPTER ARE ON THE TARMAC, PEOPLE DRESSED UP IN PERIOD CLOTHING.NO COLE PALEN SHOTS. THE " I'VE GOT A SECRET" HOST WAS STEVE ALLEN ON CBS

Steve S,

The FE8 shot is great. The two bladed prop was installed so folks could get a picture (I think). I always trembled when the plane was started. Pretty dangerous to be trapped in the birdcage.
