I think AAC Cadet Leader is the moderator for this thread. Send here a PM, she should be able to sort it out for you.

AAC Cadet Leader is away on special assignment so it might take a day or so for her to get back to you. The ten post minimum is one way to help keep those pesky spammers at bay. Posts aren’t counted here in No-Man’s Land (off topic), but there are so many other interesting threads here on the Drome so I’m sure you’ll have ten to your credit in no time.
Looking forward to seeing your photos!
Salute,
Steve

Will do Jeff. Great photos, I hadn't seen them yet! I'll have to get mom and dad to take a look. Hard to say about who mom is carrying there. i was born in August of '78, Nate in November of '81.

Some new videos are up at colepalen.com, including a groundloop compilation and a video of Cole flying the Nieuport 10. There should be another interview with Cole up on the site tomorrow. Just thought you would like to know...

Re: Great Site
Thanks, Cole palen Dot Com is a great site. I've been looking online to find some old magazine with articles from ORA. I recently bought some that weren't listed on CP Dot Com. I'm working on sending my photos to the site.
As for this forum, I started a Photo album but I have to start posting more before I can use a URL. You might be able to check my profile to see them but I cannot use the link yet!!

That's a classic ad, It is from 1972, I don't think it is from the NY Times. I believe it's from the New Yorker Magazine or some New York magazine. The Ad is for New York State , Whats written below the drawing is " And you thought you knew New York." I uploaded the whole ad to my photo album and you can read what was written. I was able to upload photos to my album, now I cannot even see my album. I 'm getting a message now that I need to have 3 posts or more to view albums. I've been on other message boards but never had the problems I am having on this forum!!!

Does ANYONE here remember Cole's "Motor Mugwump" powered SLEIGH???
Dear Fellow ORA Lovers:
The PIPE Here again...as all of us know from ORA's weekend airshows of "days gone by", Good Ol' Cole would come up with some corny plotlines, AND vehicles, to tell those "airshow melodramas" of his that we all loved...
...and one of the most unique of the VEHICLES he came up with was what he called his "Motor Mugwump"...no kidding...
...a piston-engine-spinning-a-pusher-propeller powered SLEIGH, with wheels and axles mounted onto the sleigh's snow runners !!!!
Such vehicles, "for real", but without the wheels (I think) and only using skis for snow instead, have been a LONG time sight in Russia, in its Soviet days, and were known as "aerosans", as defined at Wikipedia's entry on these at Aerosan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ...
If I remember right, Cole's unique "aerosan"-like vehicle used an Aeronca opposed-twin engine to spin its prop on the back end of the sleigh body to move it along...and I'm just wondering, that's all...
...if ANYONE else remembers Cole's "Motor Mugwump" aerosan-style sleigh, and better yet, might anyone actually have PHOTOS, or even to top a still photo, might someone actually have film OR video of that unique creation of Cole's boundless imagination, from one of his weekend airshows of the past ???
I'd LOOOVE to see photos OR video of it here, or at the "colepalen.com" website...just hoping that SOMEONE besides yours truly remembers it, and has photos/film/video of it "in action" (or just "sitting still") at ORA, from "way back when"...!
Thanks in advance, and Yours Sincerely,
The PIPE....!

Reason: Actual "Aerosan" vehicles didn't have wheels...as far as I know...!

Wow, who could forget the " Mugwump", I remember it ! It's funny, last week I was thinking about it. I will look to see if I have a photo of it. I have so many "Priceless Memories" of the good old days.
