yeah, thats me in front of the D-25 put away for the night. Mom and Dad did not meet at ORA, but rather in KY in the 60's where they grew up as teenagers. They moved to Rhinebeck for dad to take the job at ORA in '78, the same year I was born.
Mom took the role of Trudy in the early 80's once Nate and I were able to fend for ourselves on the airport grounds, although we had a large support network their with Rita, Marion and all the other folks generally watching out for us. Nate and I used to spend a large portion of the show up in the tower with Jim, often times getting stuck up there when the Black Baron would steal the ladder.

In the interest of fair consideration, I should mention that I think the first three pics I posted, the ones of Trudy in the hotel, with Percy after the pickup, and during the bomb raid, are all Earl Hall prints I believe, given to my parents and held in our collection of photos. The rest are from unknown/amateur origin, mostly taken by my Mom.

AAC Cadet Leader, thanks for starting this thread. Have you considered having it made into a documentary of Cole and his Aerodrome?
Salute!

Comment: Visited opening day today and was in awe of all the amazing planes and people. A
magical place.
She said it for us all.
