crash

This actually made the headlines on Yahoo's main page. Does anyone know who was flying the tripe?

Life is precious and means many things to many people. To one, family is the bonding agent that holds life together. To another, education, both learning and teaching, makes life rewarding. While yet to others, it is extending oneself in human acts of kindness that gives them purpose.

Apparently, Vinny Nasta was all of these and perhaps more. May what he represented live long in the many people whose lives he touched. My sincerest condolences to his wife, mother, father, and brothers.

Engine Type

Very sad news.

Does anyone know what type of engine was in the Nieuport ?

Was it a steel tube frame ?

Was the plane known for any odd flying characteristics.

How long had Rhinebeck had the plane and who else had flown it.

I read that it was tail heavy. Did a pilot say this ?

I am truely very sorry. From what I have read here Mr. Nasta seems to had been a good, worthy man. I think all of us here at the aerodrome salute him.

Sad news. My condolences to his wife and extended family. Has the family indicated the preferred charity for donations in Mr. Nasta's name?

We Miss you more then words Vinny...

There is not a single person at the aerodrome who was not deeply touched by Vinny, and we all miss him more then words. For all those who were asking the FAA and NTSB are conducting an investigation which will conclude in at latest 11 months. Any reports of a cause of the crash are speculation, and everyone needs to not spread rumors which are not based in fact, and wait for the word from the experts, as hard as that may be. The N-24 was a great plane in great shape, and Vinny was probley the best pilot ORA had to fly it. In hi own words "it flys like butter on toast". He had many hours in that plane, as all ORA pilots do in any plane they fly during an airshow. Thank you all for your support and kind thoughts, everyone at the aerodrome is deeply saddened by his passing. R.I.P.
