hello!
I am looking for info on some German Zeppelin Stations info to help a German correspondent! (Who doesn't know English!) looking for : 1)Groundplandrawing-situation plan of MAUBEUGE (is however just over the Belgian border in France) Photos of this shed are not requested! Aerial photo of this station would be fine to get! The shed was adapted by Kpt. Lehmann for use of WWI Zeppelins! 2) GONTRODE (near Ghent): if someone has grounddrawing plan, complete photos of this shed and an aerial photo of Zeppelin station we would be interested to learn more about! 3) Brussels-St-Agatha-Berchem : aerial WWI photo of Zeppelin station + photo's of shed there! A few photos I have seen were from the Evere-Haeren shed! 4) Brussels-Etterbeck! if WWI photos should exist of WWI there we should be grantfully to know! The Germans seems to have adapted the Ville-de-Bruxelles shed there but how? In combination with tentshed (Zelthalle) or not? No situation plan excists as far I known and no WWI photos known either! Hello Roser!
I can email you the situationdrawing of this field.... Was situated West of "Chaussée de Gand" and North of Railway Brüssels (Jette - Berchem) to Gent. Less or more on place formed by a triangle of Berchem-St-Agathe,Grand-Bigard,Zellick. Shed was built on former pre-WWI Belgian airfield of Berchem-St-Agathe! Used by LZ 39 only! After LZ 37 was shot down by Warneford above Gontrode, and the destruction of LZ 38 at Evere-Haeren in her shed, both destroyed on 7tn June 1915, LZ 39 was transferred to Namur sheds. LZ 39 was than later for more based at Posen, Allenstein and Warshaw. Was further used on attacks on East-Front!
