208 Sqn 7 April 1918

"On April 7 1918 208 sqd burnt their entire compliment of Sopwith Camels when their airfield was "overrun" in heavy fog." CCI Vol 35 #2 p81.

Anyone know more of these events ?

Hi Breguet,

I can send you an excerpt from The Mad Major, which has some rather detailed information about the event, including the report sent by Christopher Draper to his superiors. Just say the word.

regards

Adrian,

Let me know if you didn't get a copy I have one here, I can photocopy the whole chapter from both "Naval Eight" & "The Mad Major" and snail mail them to you if you want.

Regards,

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew but wingedwarrior was most helpful. It certainly was a facinating incident (at least how "The Mad Major" recounts it!).
cheers
