64 Squadron, May 21, 1918

64 Squadron filed 5 combat reports for this date, while flying the SE 5a:
131 Capt Philip Scott Burge @ 1050, Halberstadt two seater, SW of Laventie, Sheet 36M 14b, crashed (decisive)
132 Lt Bernard Albert Walkerdine @ 1055 in C1857, Halberstadt two seater, backward stagger, Ligny le Petit, Sheet 36 S 11, OOC (decisive)
133 Lt G L Wood at 1055 in C9517, Pfalz Scout, Sheet 36a L26, OOC
134 Lt Thomas Rose @ 1040 in C1860, AEG TE aircraft, over Sheet 51b C, indecisive
135 Capt Philip Scott Burge between 1050 & 1100, two seater, Sheet 36 M & S, indecisive

Thus one destroyed and two OOC for three decisive combats, plus two indecisive combats.

The Sky Their Battlefield (Henshaw) reports 2Lt SB Reece POW in B7737, last seen over the Scarpe River 3 miles East of L (?) at 12000 feet. Left at 6-30 pm and therefore the loss was not part of the combats between 1050 and 1100 hours.

Frank.
