That advert
The Stella ads are all very good. Extremely well directed and edited. In the latest one I can never make up my mind if its a Camel or a Pup. In my youth I could look at a tiny photo of a WW2 aeroplane - about the size of a thumbnail - and give not only the type but the mark in about a second dead! Ah Well. It must be age!!

It's a great ad and deserves to win awards like most of Stella's other offerings.
And Alex, the ravages of age! Our eyes are not as sharp as when we were bright eyed pipsqueaks!
Strangely enough Stella's never really done it for me, not bitter enough for my tastes. Although they're actually brewing it now under license back in my home, NZ because it's so popular now there!

I'm with you, Junior. It's very nice, but I wouldn't leave home for it. I like something with a little more conviction.
Great Lakes (not the airplanes) here in Ohio puts out a seasonal in the fall that I think you might like. They call it "Nosferatu." Good, well-rounded ale, copper-colored, lots of bite. It's close to 8% alcohol. I didn't see that on the label at first, until my third was making me feel a little better than three beers should . . . . . .

Sounds like a good drop. I've always fancied ales over lagers. Now a nice East Indian Pale Ale, that'd go down a treat right now
But I think I'm digressing ever so slightly into Off Topic territory
Cheers!
Junior.

Down in your half of the world, I 'spose. It's cold up here and it's stouts and porters for me until the leaves are back on the trees.
Although I wouldn't turn down a sharp and toothy IPA if it were offered, no matter how much snow is on the ground.

TV Commercials!
Now if they could only do something to replace those totally lousy and unrelated Red Baron Pizza commercials!!!
The aircraft is definitely a Camel. You can see it clearly when it passes overhead of the ground officer. The lower wing dihedral and flat top wing are dead giveaways.

I don't care how cold it get's here in Vermont. It can be 30 below and I still love beer, all kinds of beer. You see, I have a secret for enjoying the warm weather brew in the darkest months of the year. I throw a few extra chunks of wood in the stove, open the draft and partially close the damper. That makes that cast iron stove glow a nice dull red. Then I go to the fridge, get a nice cold one, any kind other than cheap, flavorless, generic, American poo, and sit by the front window. It's an especially nice way to enjoy a full blown Winter blizzard. By the way, have any of you enjoyed Sam Adams Hefeweizen?
Salute!

$$$ for Stella Artois?! Guess because it's imported, or some fancy variation. Stella is as common in France as Bud is in the States. Frankly, never thought much of it; just something to drink like Bud.
The ad is good.
cheers, Boom

The Final Solution
Don't worry Jonathan. The planet will be running out of water soon and we'll rule the world by selling these poor slobs what we know best. Great ad tho.
