Stella Artois Beer Commercial

Stella Artois Beer Commercial video clip

Have you seen this???
To see the "flash" movie, right click on the link and download to your disk (or just click to see it). Then use a browser with a Flash plugin like Netscape 7.1 to see it. I was able to extract the movie from my cache:
http://www.sunbeamalpine.org/jans_pi...beer_movie.swf

Here is the link to Stella Artois (never heard of it):

Very interesting

I love beer. I love it so much that I even make my own. Mostly, I like to drink it. I thought I would see if I could find Stella Artois and try it. That is, until I saw the price of a twelve pack is $39.00. Now I will have to find a place that has it on tap. Maybe the Old Forge, a pub that specializes in European beers, will have it. Then there is the Man of Kent which specializes in British brews. If I find it, I will let you know if it is as good as the commercial.

Jan, have you tried it?

Now, about the commercial. It looked like an eindekker shooting down a camel. The film was so pixelated it was hard to tell.

Have you tried Samuel Adams Hefewiesen? If you enjoy Euro lagers you will probably like this one.

Salute!

Stella Artois thread

Hi Everyone!

The Stella Atrois beer and commercial enjoyed some discussion on a thread in August this year.

Here's a link if you wish to refer to it...

Hey, I enjoyed the commercial. The movements did not look CG! That is saying something! I think, that despite the wrong match up of types... and the Camel being "smoked" by the Eindecker, it is fun to see. The Camel's movements in the air look great... not fake or overdone. Also, the Camel passing overhead was great to see, w/ the smoke belching out. The crash w/ the Camel colliding into the tree is utterly convincing. The rearward view of the Eindecker bobbing and weaving in the Camel's slipstream trying to gain a bead was cool as well. The markings looked like later 46 Squadron RAF markings... or 66?

Personal Plane Services in England (Tony Bianchi's company) have flyable replicas (I believe) of both a Camel and an Eindecker, so it's probably them.

Visually a very stimulating commercial, although our collective enjoyment of it proves that we all have been waiting much too long for another WWI aviation epic! I guess that this 60 second advertisement for outrageously priced beer will have to suffice for the time being.....

I love brew!

I went to one of the local beverage stores and asked if they had Stella Artois. The man said yes and showed me several six packs on the shelf. I remember seeing on line a twelve pack for $39.00. So, being to cheap to waste a lot of buck on a brew that some of you claimed was horrible, I asked if I could buy just one bottle. He then showed me a line of singles on the shelf above. I grabbed one and to my surprise the price was only $1.59. A lot better than I expected.
When I got home I stuck the bottle in the freezer for about a half an hour. Stella's site recommended serving at 6 to 8 degrees C. After the pizza I ordered arrived, I brought out the Stella, popped the top and poured per the website's directions. There is a special procedure for pouring, you know. It had the distinct skunky smell of many ales and pilsners. It took some getting used to but after a couple of swallows, I began to detect a rich flavor. It has a slight bitter bite as do most Euro beers.
The dogfight commercial was great and the beer not bad. I might go back and buy a six pack next time.

Salute!

The Camel serial nr. looks to me as B2458. Tuff to see... only appears with any clarity in one frame. Thanks for the link Jan.
