Hucknall Aerodrome

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me to find the role of Hucknall Aerodrome during the war?

Hucknall is in Nottinghamshire and I think it was used for training but I'm not sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Elsewhere on the web:

"Hucknall airfield, built in 1916 and originally home to the American Flying Corps, was subsequently used by the Royal Air Force, and it continued in this role for many years."
