Kagohl I in Macedonia
Hi,
Does anyone have solid data on the airfields used during 1916 in Macedonia by Kagohl I ?
The few things I have seem rather conflicting.
Thanks and best from Johan

Nothing to see with your question, but...
Hi,
I know nothing about Kaghol 1 in Macedonia, but on 29th april 1917 french pilot Dieudonné Costes claims one bi-engined enemy plane that attacked Saloniki. The text of his citation says that the ennemy bomber regained his lines out of control. No casuality exists at this date for Kaghol 1.
Would you have details about this day ? Did one of the bombers was damaged ?
Regards,
DTB

Hi,
Unfortunately I have nothing at all on the mather, and this is even new to me !
The only loss I know of is earlier that month in Macedonia, and that's it. But of course I still have a few years of research to go on the matter. It is gathering bits and pieces from photo albums, old books, testimonies, Kofl reports or photo's.
Sorry, best from Johan

Hi DTB
KG 1 probably made their last bombing raid this day during their service in Macedonia...
They reported dropping 2300 kg bombs an a depot a Skocivir. During this raid one of their own protection a/c piloted by a jewish pilot Fw Martin Jacobowitz was able to brought down a Nieuport E of Cerna "bogen" within allied lines.
However, Jacobowitz was himself badly wounded in the combat, and must later amputate one of his legs...

Hi Johan
There was an article in the "old" Cross & Cockade with the name "KG 1 in Macedonia" or similar from where I have taken notes. However I cant directly find the exact volume where it was published as I only have a reference like Old C&C...
Perhaps there exist an index of these articles..?...someone knews..?
A good original source is also the Nachrichtenblätter*, and if I remember correct the above mentioned article is mostly based on this source...
*They are since some Years published in translated form in the Over The Front magazine...

Hi Gunnar,
Thanks ! I hope to have copies of the Nachrichten by the end of this year, from the Kriegsarchiv in Munchen. I already to a lot of notes out of them for 1917 concerning aerial victories of the FA and SS over Flanders, but didn't get any further.
And of course i'm very interested in getting a copy of the article in C&C ! Can anyone help me indeed ?
Again thanks and best from Johan
