Black September 1918

Where can I find more information on September 1918. A program on the History Channel stated that the Germans brought down 540 Alled planes during that month. True? Untrue?

BABS (Bloody April - Black September) by Norman Franks, et.al. might be a good place to start. R.

BABS is a great book but its not written in a narrative style for enjoyable reading. Its written with a heavy emphasis on statistics to assist researchers. Very interesting and a must-have for hard core WWI aviation people, but a bit dry reading for casual coffee table stuff.

Hi

It is embarrassing that the History channel even cant report facts which has been known for over 80 Years...
Also when I visited the PRO 25 Years ago, they did have the official amount of German victories...
It also also said in earlier threads that at least one British newspaper (I think Herald tribune?) did publish this "German" information already during the War...

So a good example of bad research from the History channel.. ..and if you want the true number of German victories You can read another thread with the same name a bit down on this page...!
