French losses May 1915

1) On 20 May 1915 a German Albatros-biplane (150 hp) with MG downed a French Maurice Farman-airplane over German-held ground.
(Location possibly in Douai sector.)
Observer dead, pilot died 4 hours after combat.

Victoir? Victims? (Maybe Thoreau & Blancpain of MF 54?)

2) On 26 May 1915 in Douai sector. 4 French intruders. Again a German Albatros-biplane (150hp) attacked but Saxon officer Kästner on DFW (150 hp) with MG hit tank of French Farman, which was forced down to land on German-held soil. Crew captured. A third German airplan - Aviatik (100 hp) - used 25 shot-rifle to prevent the escape of the Frenchmen.

Did Kästner really got confirmation for the victory or another pilot or crew?

Who are the French airmen?

TIA.

Thank you very much, Gregoire!

The victory on 26 May could (maybe) refer to de Verrier & Lattard of GB 3 if the author of the note was in error concerning the type of airplane.

Hi Rammjäger

The victory (confirmed) on 26 May 15 by Lt Franz Kästner (P) and Lt x Langhoff (O) was reported to be a French 2-s which came down in the Douai area* within German hold lines around 07:00...
They were reported flying an a/c with s/n C 80/15...

Anyone knew the first name of Langhoff...?...or knew the name of the victorious crew on 20 May 15...?

*this is probably the e/a reported shot down South of Lens in the Heeresberichte...

Hello

GB3 included VB107, VB108 and VB109 and operated from Brias (or Bryas), 30km west of Lens.

the SHAA book lists caporal Maxime Leverrier as a member of VB108, MIA 25/05/15.( but not listed in the "mort pour la France" so could be POW and survived the war)

Soldat Pierre Lattard is reported as DOW june 8 1915 at Douai hospital (so a german hospital) (from the "mort pour la France" database).
