Peteroz,
These are great pics you put on here. It's sad to see what has happened over the years to it.Maybe someday someone will fix it up and give it the care it needs. After all that is part of their history.

O course, but You must rembember that many of older Polish people don't want remember about german officer. It's normal situation. Poland was 'killed' by Germany, Russia and Austro-Hingarian for over 123 years. In my opinion we should to fix this monuments but Poles prefer to fix monuments of polish heros of history. Do you understand what I want to say?

I think it's this tendency but Poles shuldn't forget about their history. History of polish country is very thrilling and tragic, and also, difficoult to understand.
I don't want make a lection of history, but You must know that Poles don't forget past for a long time.

Salute

Hello Peteroz,

thank you for sharing these pictures with us. It is very possible, that this picture shows the grave of Lothar, for the graveyard was closed and used as a park after 1945.

Let's remember the sons and daughters of Silesia -
whatever nationality they are and were

You're right. Lothar von Richthofen's rested near his father (who died in 1920). Their grave was in garrison cemetery in Swidnica's park.
Today there isn't this cemetery. Many people don't know that in park was before Lothar von Richthofen's grave.

Hi

As far I am aware of, it still today exist a huge amount of historical aviation material in Breslau in Silesia.
The Polish have refused to give the material "back to" Germans institutions despite several proposals. The material have also been secret until today (at least for German researchers)...

I dont like this behavior... , but I shall admit that a few German institutions/archives behave similar or make its very difficult to get access to important historic information..

The only good thing is that the material is "still there" and that the Polish perhaps in the future will change their attitude..

Hi Friends!
It's today's foto of Richthofen House in Swidnica. I have one more (from my friend who live in Swidnica) but I must look for it.

Hi, do you remember a name of street when did you live or characteristic point near there? I also live near Old Town, so I'm very curious.
