Gentlemen, I'm hoping you can help me. A new book: 'Flying Guns: World War 1 - Development of Aircraft Guns, Ammunition and Installations 1914-1932' by Emmanuel Gustin and myself, is due to be published (today, actually - although I haven't seen it yet! .
Our publishers, the Crowood Press, have asked me to supply information about any publications on WW1 aviation which might be interested in reviewing the book. A few have been mentioned in this thread and I would be very grateful if you could supply me with contact details for any suitable magazines which do publish book reviews.
Thanks for any help!

Tony,
Magazines/journals dedicated to scale models would be a good choice - "Windsock" published by Albatros (Ray Rimmel) would be a good one, there must be many more.
I don't know if the Canadian Aviation Historical Society reviews books in its Journal, perhaps one of our Canadian members can answer?
WW1 Aero possibly?
Aero Fan, an Italian aviation magazine (pub in Italian & English).
Any of the "general" warbirds type magazines.
I'm desperately trying to remember where I first saw a review of Harry Woodman's book back in '89, a lot of brain cells been shot down since then though!

Tony,
The periodical Canadian Military History would likely be interested in doing a review. I've written for them in the past, specifically on Billy Bishop. I'm also doing reviews of 1 Cdn Para Bn and on Canadian Peacekeeping for future issues.
If you want to pursue this, let me know and I'll help you.

And yes, CAHS does do reviews, just to answer a previous question. So does AirForce Magazine.

F89N88, Mike W, et al,
Why wait for next year? You could subscribe now and get this years 3 issues now and the Winter when it is published before the end of the year.
The Winter Issue is laid out and waiting for the green light as soon as the new print house unloads the Fall Issue.
This year has seen a lot of varied content. Everything from a history of a French multipurpose squadron, Escadrille N 79, to Curtiss Flying Boats, the Rumpler 6B1 floatplane fighter with a 1/48th scale plans feature and much more. There are some surprises still in store for the year that every modeller or enthusiast will want to have.
I'm starting on the Spring 2004 issue now. (it's me, Cigogne! I've had to re-register since theaerodrome site went down last week... my old logon is not working. "Hansa" it will have to be until I get "Cigogne" working again. I've sent a message to Scott about it, but haven't heard back yet. I miss my old id! Anybody else encounter this when the site went down?)
The Rare Birds features are all lined up for the 2004 year and the drawings done my Martin Digmayer are very fine. There will be two French subjects and two German ones for 2004. The drawings are complete for three of them... you modelers are in for a treat... as well as any other WWI enthusiast!
Regards,
Hansa (aka Cigogne)

I ordered OTF not last tuesday but the tuesday before that, so this coming Tuesdayit will be two weeks since I ordered.
How long should it take to arrive? I am a poor SOB so I used the standard $60 order, with fourth class mail, but I thought it should be arriving soon even so?

You can email the new Membership Secretary and let him know you just joined. Have him put pressure on the fullfilment folks at the print house.
Hansa
PS. You'll enjoy the content... lots of good photographic content this year!

Vol 18 #3 just showed up on my door. OtF is prposing a new publishing schedule to get back on track. Great Dietz cover. Mark Miller images of Udet's Alb. D.V & Va aircraft. An insert done in 1/48 scale by Martin Digmayer on the Curtiss HS Flying Boats. More on the British Independent Force and British Strategic Bombing1917-1918. Stewart K. Taylor (Master Historian) gives us a short story of Udet's 10th victor another British pilot also named Taylor. Good stuff Maynard.
