Question For History Buffs: "The Flanders Front"

Here and there, I've heard the term "Flanders Front" applied to the northwest area of the front that runs into the North Sea. I would like to know the nature of this nickname for the trenches, as in, was it a commonly used name for this area during the war? Was it or is it used much at all?

I've always had an interest in WWI Aviation, and I am considering building my own home page with a WWI flight theme, and I thought about naming it some form of "Flanders Front" or "The Flanders Front". I just wanted to make sure I'm not gonna look like an idiot doing this. Thanks.

Not so much a nickname as descriptive of that part of Belgium.

The four main sectors on the Western Front from North to South were Flanders, Marne, Verdun, and Alsace. The Flanders sector of the front was mostly located in Belgium although parts of the Flemish community reside in France. The Yrpes Salient was located here. The battle at Vimy Ridge and Arras were also fought in this sector. For the most part only the British were engaged here. This is mainly because of the agreement signed by the Royal Government to protect Belgium in case of attack which eventually came in 1914.

BTW the name Flanders means flooded land in Flemish.
Arguably the most horrible sector of the war. You'll have to send a link to your site.
