Hi all,

anyone have an idea about where to ask to "visionate" the photograms shot by WWI recon planes ?

I think they where taken in order to be viewed with a "stereoscope" (i don't know how it is called in english) , it should permit to view the terrain in 3D (black/white) with a bit exageration of heights to increase objects/terrain particularities.

I would be really interested on study those shots, but I think they are military material, so some kind of request should be inoltrated to authorities.

thank you for any info or tips !

thank you very much

but it is not the kind of shot I'm searching :

I am working to find aerial photo of the ground, they did so much recon flight mission, I bet that some archive have this old photo again.

The stereo I use is not with "glasses" : it is a special instrument that "unite" two different aerial photo to make (with reflecting mirrors and a bit of pratice) a 3d vision of the ground objects : hills, trench, structures, tree, and everything is "elevated".

I still use it today while I work for photomaps.

Thanks again !

Zif,

it might be worth dropping the RAF Museum at Hendon an e-mail, even if they have nothing themselves they might be able to direct you to an appropriate resource.
