Hello,
If you could only have several reference books about the Fokker Dr.1, what would they be? I am trying to cut corners and trying to acquire only the most useful books on this subject.
Thank you, willy

While some may argue over 'Weylisms', there are photos and or valuable information in each of these. If your starting from scratch, anything by, Messers Abbott, Ferko, Grosz, Imrie or Leaman will be of some use to you. For the Kranzhoff book you need to read German, but great too. The R. Rimell's 'Special' is better than the 'Original Datafile.'
My Favorites References are:
1. Cross & Cockade Int. (GB) Vol. 3 #3, 1973.
2. Cross & Cockade Int. (GB) Vol 6 #3 Fold out Cutaway diagram. 1975.

Good list Stephen L:

Why only reason references? I know many books are now out of print.....but I have also found that , NOW, with the internet, many of these books from yore are still available at attractive prices.

Example: "Fighter Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War By W.M. Lamberton 1960. The photos are in b/w but then how many color cameras were present during WWI?

And the 3 view 1/72 scale drawing are great.

Greetings Topgun56: The Lamberton / Harleyford book is a good source certainly. It also has many inaccuracies based on the drawings of Weyl. Today there is much more accurate info available.

I really enjoyed reading my copy of The Fokker Triplane by Alex Imrie but......

I just got a copy of Paul Leaman's Fokker Dr.1 Triplane: A World War One Legend.

Move over Mr. Imrie....

Leaman's book is hard cover, 224 pages very nicely done and jamb packed with photos, quite a few of which I was unfamiliar with. Also quite a few full page color illustrations.

If I had to have only one Fokker Dr.1 book in my library I believe this would be it!!!!!
