Feltre Aerodrome
Hello Markojeras, No time frame was stated in your question so I assumed you meant during the course of the war. According to information from Karl Meindl the following KuK Fliks served at Feltre: Flik 11 mid-end February 1918; Flik 14 from 7 June 1918 to EOW; Flik 16 from 25 November 1917 - October 1918; Flik 31 from 25 June - ??? end July 1918; Flik 36 from 29 June - ??? early July 1918; Flik 39 from 14 January - May 1918; Flik 45 during April 1918; Flik 56 during December 1917; Flik 60J from 13 March to end September 1918; Flik 66 from January 1918 to EOW; Flik 101 served at Feltre for a brief period in early May1918. German Fl.Abt.39 served there from 1-31 December 1917. Feltre is 30 km almost due west of Vittorio and 31 km NW Bassano. It was captured by KuK forces on 12 November 1917. There were two other kuk airfields near Feltre, Arsie and Fonzaso. Hope this will assist you. Cheers, agblume

With best regards,

Feltre Aerodrome
Hello Markojeras, Glad to assist. Unfortunately the materials from which these details were extracted has not been published. It was made available to me by Herr Karl Meindl and covered all KuK Luftfahrtruppen units. It has proved invaluable in my research. Perhaps Herr Meindl will choose to publish it one day. Cheers, agblume

Thank you for explanation.
Please, can you possibly help me to find out when was Hansa-Brandenburg D.I 28.26 on Feltre aerodrome and which pilot(s)/unit(s) used it?
With best regards,
Marko

Agblume,
I have absolutely no intention to cause
an endless queue of questions stem from
your preceding reply to markojeras,
so I'will understand if you'll ignore this other
query.
Could you please tell me which and how many
LFT units, according to Dr. Meindl's data,
were operated in Albania during 1918?
Published information in my possessionm show they
were Flik 1/J, 6/F,and 13/J.
But, I don't know which aerodromes did they
exactly operate from (I know two:Tirana anf Fjeri)
and in which time periods.
Thank you very much.
Cheers,

Anybody, exept me, would like to see a new forum section dedicated to K.U.K. aviation?

K.u.K. Airfields in Albania
Hello Bertrand Gonzaga, The K.u.K. had the following airfields in Albania and southern Dalmatia: Banja, Bazar Sjak, Berat, Kavaja, Fieri, Tirana, Scutari and Igalo. Flik 1 served at Igalo (Bocche di Cattaro in southern Dalmatia) from 13.07.9181 - EOW; Flik 6 served at Igalo from 29.11.1915 - 29.01.1916, then Scutari from 30.01.1916 - 31.07.1917, then Tirana from end July 1917 - June 1918, then Banja from June - 7 July 1918, then Tirana from 8 July - September 1918, and finally to Podgorica in Montenegro. Flik 13 was at Bazar Sjak (near Durazzo) from 20.08.-05.09.1918, then Kavaja from 5 September -probably late October 1918. Seeflugstations were located at Kumbor, Igalo, Ragusa, Cattaro, Scutari and Durazzo. There was a two-part article by myself and Alberto Casirati titled, "The Italian Campaign in Macedonia and Albania 1916-1918," which appeared in Over the Front Vol.7 No. and No.2 Spring and Summer 1992. You might find it of value in your research as it covers actions by K.u.K. units. I share the view by Markojeras that there is a need for a dedicated effort to address the history of the K.u.K. Luftfahrtrupen, but I feel it would need much help from experts in the field, like Karl Meindl, who have access to the archives in Vienna. Cheers, agblume

Markojeras,
sorry I didn't mean neither to 'invade' your thread nor, of course, to hurt you.
Agblume's reply to your post stirred so much interest in me that I really couldn't help myself from posting at once mine ....but, I recognise I'd done better to start a dedicated thread.
Agblume,
I am deeply indebeted to you for your compehensive reply, particularly as it comes to the 'minor' A-H airfields in the area (Banja, Kavaja, etc.), which I didn't even know the existence of, and about which I guess only minimal published information is at hand. It very generous from you sharing those informations with us. Also, the reference to your (and Casirati's) article is most welcome! I'm going to search for the issues of Over the Front you've mentioned without a second's delay!!!
THANKS AGAIN!
Cheers
Bertrand

Hi Bertrand
I am, actually, glad that you 'jumped in', because now I see some interest in K.u.K. aviation history here
I hope that this might be a start of a more frequent talk about LFT.
All the best,
Marko
