Zeppelin raids over Greece.
Can anyone confirm that there were Zeppelin raids on Salonika, Greece during WWI?

Airship Raids Over Greece
Hello Ross Moorhouse, Yes there raids on Salonika. Sorry I don't have dates of all raids at hand. German Army airship LZ.55/LZ.85 operated out of Temesvar and was shot down at Salonika by fire from British warships on 5 May 1916. Hope that helps a bit. A snippet that might be of interest; on 30 October 1918, representatives of the Ottoman Empire signed the Armistice on board HMS Agamemnon and in November 1918, the ship led an Allied squadron through the Dardanelles to Constantinople. Her ultimate fate? Sold for scrap in 1927.
