Hi All:

Can someone tell me how to obtain a roster of personal from the number 3 Wing, R.N.A.S. who were located in Luxeuil France? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton has a large work prepared by a researcher that deals exclusively with 3 Wing. Especially good on the infrastructure.

They have no plans to get it published which is a pity.

You can e-mail the research department to see if there is a roster of personnel that can be copied - I assume you reside in Canada so a visit (the best option) is out of the question.
Look on their web site for the address and e-mail.

Enough articles have been published on 3 Wing for you to make a start compiling the roster yourself.

I would suggest the following will help:

Air Command - Raymond Collishaw
The Mad Major - Christopher Draper

There is also a nice feature written by Bob Pearson on the Over The Front web site.

I am sure other member of the forum can suggest further published sources.

Hi Mike:

Many thanks for your suggestion. I sent an e-mail to the research department at Yeovilton today. My wife and I hope to spend a couple of weeks in England next year; with any luck we may get a chance to visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum in person.

Garth,

it's well worth a visit whatever era of aviation you are interested in - If you intend to visit the research area you will need to book an appointment.
