A friend recently gave me this old leather hard top helmet. My husband and I are debating over whether it is an old flight helmet or a football helmet. Would appreciate any information. Thanks >

It is anaviator's flight helmet. The red, blue white cockade on the top and the winged cockade on the front clearly identifies it as a flight helmet. I seen photographs of U.S. pilots wearing this type of helmet.
