Hi gang.

In WWI, occupied areas of France were forced to observe German time, which of course was one hour ahead of French clocks. In most cities, German "diktat" orders were circulated which mandated the switch. The orders were drawn up and copied locally for distribution. I'm looking for a copy of an original order, or any original material on the topic from either the French or German perspective... does anyone have any ideas?

I've found one in France but its a bit far to go for one piece of paper. *

In Kortrijk (West Flanders - Belgium), the order to have all clocks on German time was issued only on October 7th 1915. Most people kept talking and thinking in "Belgian time" though. Because of the fines, the people of shops and cafés put their clocks away.
I don't have a copy of the order, although it should be able to find this order in the city archives and take a copy.

Jan
