Good catch - the use is the secret I suppose, not the subject!

Yes it's in oil. This one is on maple board, but I normally work on belgian linen. I like painting these old planes of wood and fabric on fabric with wood stretchers.

Since I'm in a "posting mood" - and it's a new year, here's another. This one is on linen....

Happy New Year -

These paintings look great *
And I'm particularly fond of that little piece of the Biddle painting.

I'm not sure how to phrase what it is I like about that piece...
I'm not to fond of the term realistic.
It's more like a sense of immediate presence
You can almost smell it.

in any case - nice work
can't wait to see the whole thing

Thanks. That's exactly what I'm going for. Besides, I don't have the patience to be a photo realist !

It may be a while before the remainder is revealed, but if you show up at the ASAA regional on January 25, it'll be there.......

Mike,

Are you a professional artist, or is painting simply a hobby? Either way, your stuff looks great! Do you have a web site where we might see more?

Regards,
