Haven't seen a lot of Stephen here at the Aerodrome for a while. Bigger fish to fry I suppose. We have had "Schlachtfleiger", Eduard Ritter von S.,and now Luke in a matter of a few months. I am proud of you guys. The creative juices flow strong in this corner of the net.

In order of posting...
- Yes, Stephen, you DO know, don't you? You were there for a lot of it!
- Don't know about pre-orders - that's up to Schiffer. But it sure is good to hear that everyone is so anxious for it. I still think we're a good twelve months out; probably a bit more.
- I've been around, but traveled heavily in Feb to support and research the book. I was worried over our site until I saw the finished product. I'm happy with it. BTW, while waiting on THE STAND site to get done I was on your site the other day. Looks fantastic.

Hi Bob,
I'm being completely honest here - I could not have completed my book without the valuable assistance I received from people like yourself on this forum. Period. There are just too many facts to gather by oneself, and it really helps to have others lending a hand when your coming up empty handed during a particularly difficult phase of research. I'm not just blowing smoke here. I believe that Stephen, Adrian, and the others would echo my sentiments exactly. This forum is a rich resource of very talented individuals. I feel that collectively we have promoted a better understanding of WWI aviation history, and from that, a greater demand for accuracy and truthfulness about the era has surfaced. These are all good things.
Well, I really didn't want to steal this thread (and Stephen's thunder) by getting on my high horse. Congrats to him on his great accomplishment!
Regards,
Darren

Truer words were never spoken. The speed with which communication now takes place helps SO much compared to what researchers could do in the 60's. And the internet has brought so many willing and helpful people together that its amazing what can be done. The longest chapter in the book should be the acknowledgements.

No, no... don't worry. Besides, there's a lot more thunder on the way. Two huge announcements are waiting in the wings but we can't say anything until its all official. Stay tuned.

Stephen,
Congratulations on the new book. I know you've been working on it for a long, long time.
I look forward to picking up a copy. When and how will it be available? I looked on the web site, but didn't see ordering information.
Does Shooter know about it yet?
Regards,

Excellent! It is good to hear from you again Stephen. The Frank Luke website looks to be a place to visit on a regular basis. I'll have to make it one of my favorites!
Good luck with your book; I hope it brings you great satisfaction. BTW, are you planning a visit to DC this May?
regards,
Darren

That's up to Schiffer - its not my call. I actually considered self publishing but Schiffer really seemed to want the book. But going with a major publisher also meant I lost control of things like that. So here we are.
I'll ask about advance orders, but I don't think they'll be accepted for some months... maybe late in the year. But I'm glad you mentioned it. That's a question that should be answered on the site. They're trying to keep track of stuff like that.

Dunno. Shooter and I spoke on the phone around Christmas but have been out of touch since. I should call him.
