Hi,

It seems that Torpedostaffel II, operating from Zeebrugge, did a torpedo attack somewhere before the coast of Calais on a French steamer, somewhere in the beginning of August 1917, or maybe, but a small maybe at the very end of July.
I have a French report stating that four torpedo's were fired and that they all just missed the steamer Ville de Cette.

The steamer wasn't really lucky as it was hit on the 4th of September 1917 by a 38 cm shell from the German naval batterie Pommern at Koekelare, 44 km's away from Dunkirk in this city's harbour. It sank, was raised and went to a drydock for repairs.

Anyone having any more info on the torpedo attack ?

Thanks ans best from Regulus
