The Österreichische Flugzeug Historiker has start publishing a series of softcover books on the air-to-air victories of the Austro-Hungarians in World War 1. Volume 1 covered the Rumanian Front 1914-1916; Volume 2 covers the Russian Front 1914-1916. I have put Volume 1 away someplace, but I have Volume 2 at hand. It is 96 pages, A4 size, soft cover. After 23 pages of background material, including three A-H aviation orders of battle for the Russian front (2May1915, 4June1916 and 31October1916) comes the meat of the book. Each victory is described on a full page, sometimes two. Date, time, crew, location, aircraft flown with serial, type claimed; a textual description of the combat events; and a list of sources for the particular victory. Black and white drawings of the AH aircraft types involved. A small number of photos on decent but not great paper.

If I remember correctly I sent $15 cash for Volume 2, and I believe the address was ÖFH, Felberstrasse 104/7, A-1150 Wien, Austria. I can't find the flyer announcing the book, so I am not sure of the price and address. If anyone knows for sure, please post a note.

Frank.

Look at:

I think the first address (Pfenniggeldstr. etc) is correct but the Klublokal-address mentioned by you should work as well.

It's great!!
I imagine (and hope) there's also an other book in program covering
victories on the Italian front.
Is there any information about that in the two volumes you have Frank?

They are planning about ten volumes, to cover all AH claims. At least one more on Rumania, one more on Russia, two I think on the Albanian front, and three I think for Italy. If I can find the original flyer about the series I will list all the books.

Does anyone know if these people will take credit cards, or does it have to be folding stuff? I really do fancy having at least some of these books.

The text is in German, but that shouldn't hold anyone up if they are interested in stats. They are going to do Rumanian, Russian, Albania, and Italian Fronts in multiple volumes.

Karl is the expert, that is for sure.

My area of special interest is the kuk LFT. I would greatly appreciate any information that might be available.

Might these publications also be available et the Arsenal Museum?

Gunnar,
All mail from Austria to Sweden goes to a special anthrax testing site, where it is held. Not tested. Just held. Just like here in the US, if you send mail to Washington. Although I suspect that was set up by politicians so they have less annoying mail from their constituents.
