A Gift To The Good People Here....

Hey folks, I have something cool to share. A buddy of my gave this to me to pass on. He's guessing some of you will put this to good use:

This is a link to S&L Service. Police and other agencies use it. It's sort of like Google Earth but offers "Bird's eye View". This is going to blow your socks off as you prowl the planet from space....

We don't have the paid subscription, so some features aren't available but bird's eye view is "Da Bomb". On the front screen use "Map Control" and you'll figure it out from there. Not all areas on the earth offer Bird's eye, but many do. I've just started playing with it myself and and... WOW!

Enjoy

I think your thread hear is most suitable in the off-topic section, but I did try Google Earth on a freinds computer,it is good.I enjoyed looking at Tokyo with it.But the feature that I like of GE is that you can switch to looking at the night sky and zoom into space objects,Horsehead nebula is a very evocative looking nebula.

You may well be right, Willie, but I was thinking specifically of recent threads here trying to place aerodromes and event locations in a modern context. I'm wondering if maybe this could be useful for some of the researchers.
