school report

I am doing a report at school about the evolution of the modern air force. Now I am wondering if there is anyone specific I should talk about. I have Billy Mitchell and also have Giulio Douhet, the Italian general who advocated the use of the aircraft. Is there anyone who I forgot to mention?

Hi Bboelcke,

Gianni Caproni and Giulio Douhet work very closely. there's some Caproni papers prepared during WWI that shows how deep he went on the topic.

E S Gorrell plans for the AEF 1919 strategical campaign has an interesting point of view too.

I wrote my thesis on the relations between Caproni and AEF, so I can suggest:

Caproni paper are available in microfilm in the USAF AFHRA rolls 1811 and 1812
All the info about Gorrell can be easily found in "History of the AEF Air Service 1917-1919" available in US National Archives.

Best regards

Paolo

Boelcke to boelke

When my family came over from germany to america they decided to change the name at elis island. the removed the c so that it was easer to pronounce. It can be spelled either way.
