Arras,Albert and Cambria airfield locations

Hi

I am trying to find info on any airfield locations within the area between say Arras over to Cambria down to Perone and then up to Albert and over to Arras again.Or any airfields just on the outside edge of this area if there were.I have found a few locations within the Archives and forums here @ The Aerodrome.

I have so far the Filescamp farm near Izel le Hameau with the RFC there I believe and at Roucourt there was a Jasta airfield I am sure I read.Although these are all I have found so far searching for around this area.I have googled and searched a few site but have yet been fortunate enough to get some exact or even close locations.

Any information or help pointing me in the right direction to find some info,
I would sincerly appreciate it

Thank you

Wayne

Wayne,

it is almost impossible to answer your question here - simply too many allied and german aerodromes within the area you are interested in.

But I can recommend a few books to you which cover the subject quite well.

The following titles by Mike O'Connor from the "Battleground Europe" series by Pen & Sword will give you a good start.

- Airfields & Airmen: Cambrai
- Airfields & Airmen: Arras
- Airfields & Airmen: Somme

Jasta Location Website

Wayne:

Here is a site that will tell you where each Jasta was located, just plug in the date on the top, click on show and the map will show the new data based on that date. Take your mouse and roll over either the dots on the map to show the Jasta location or roll your mouse over the Jasta listed below to highlight it location.
