The fellow at the Rupp prop hub lighting a cigarette, looks like Urlich Neckel.

It looks like, to me, that there is no cross on the lower wing.

Lower wing cross

Hi Troy,

I thought so too at first, but have another look. The disruption to the diagonal pattern can be seen between the two men on the right hand side of the photograph. Two very thin white lines can also be seen running parallel to the leading and trailing edges of the lower wing.

Thank you very much for posting this photograph Willi, it is very interesting!

Cheers,

David.

You welcome

As soon as I saw this pic,I knew I had to show it to the rest of you! There are very few photos of Kirschstein's DVII.I like photos of pilots relaxing or sharing conversations with one another in front of their birds.BTW,I have yet to see a replica DVII with Hans' markings.

I think you're right David. Looks like the inboard cross tip is sticking out about where the second man from the right has his hand in his pocket, maybe?

Yes, my thanks for the picture too Willi.

Kirschstein had more than one striped DVII. See these threads:

Hans Kirschstein Fokker DVll
