Hi Maureen,

I know what you mean about employment! Many jobs these days can be mundane and hardly pay the bills. I have an idea for you. Pack up, come over here to Australia and let's start building some aeroplanes! I've done the research - have been doing it for about 25 years now, and have an airfield organised, so it's time to start building. I don't know if it's viable as a business but it sure would be nice to give it a go.

Cheers,

David.

OH! I would LOVE to come to Australia!!!! I have a good girlfriend in Melbourne! I'd LOVE to see her again! Ok....I'll be right over! I even know a little about internal combustion engines! I once took Auto-tech classes at Henry Ford Community College! I rebuilt an engine...and it started! At one time, I could take apart and put together any carburetor you could put in front of me....and not have any parts left. lol

Fantastic!

Fantastic Maureen! I will book a flight for you! It just happens that I have friends near Melbourne too who are into building replicas and re building engines. They have an original 110 HP le Rhone and they did have an 80 HP le Rhone but they sold it. They are having parts built for the 110 HP le Rhone, and I am going to get involved in making these parts too.

When should I make the booking for?

Hi Grover,

There is actually some very good research work being carried out on such aeroplanes as the Fokker Dr.1 and the Albatros D.Va these days. I am sure that someone somewhere must know something about the Pfalz D.XV but I don't have any information about it at all unfortunately.

Hi Maureen, great! I will look forward to hearing from you! ..... oh, I forgot to mention that I had written a reply stating that the airfield is nearly ready to occupy now, so I am very happy about that! The reply timed out before, and I forgot that it was not posted. Just have to build a hanger on it now and there will be a very nice space to start building! Sweet!

Cheers,

David.

My Gallery
No such number??

Hi AlbDIII1234:
The Alb.D.III serial numbers were D.1910/16 to 2309/16. The 1917 serial numbers were: D.600/17 to D.649/17 and D.750/17 to D.799/17.
The Alb.D.III 2958/16 number might be D.1958/16, however, that number is not among any of the Alb.D.III aircraft listed in Ed Ferko's "Richthofen" on page 79. Because of that, the D.1958/16 would be problematical.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Russ,

I'm late to this thread, but when I started reading the Steve Martin quote, I was thinking Steve St. Martin, and it took about four lines before I recognized the quote. A great skit that was.
