An interesting but sad recon photo

This aerial photo is a before/after view of Paschendeal.It shows the useless destruction caused by war.I say it softly,bloody hell.

hmmm,if you think it looks bad from this high up just "try" and imagine being on the ground.

i dont think any of us can of course imagine the horror of being there.

Probably would have been far worse to compare the two in real life. I daresay that would have looked something like this:

My grandad fought at Passiondale with the KOSB in 1917 and from some of his stories it was grim to say the least.
