Today at 2 pm Pacific time The History Channel's first installment in "A Day in Their Lives" describes a specific Yank in the RAF, 1918. I have no idea whether it's worthwhile...we'll see!

Barrett:

This is a rerun of an episode which we've already discussed on this forum months ago. It's not a bad job; they use a lot of footage of Rhinebeck's Camel and Fokker D.VII, and re-enactor types in ill-fitting uniforms and too-long hair (in my opinion). Some of the aerial footage is reversed (in order to have the aircraft going in the 'right' direction for the story and composition, apparently) which becomes painfully obvious when the "B" on the side of the Camel faces backwards !! The story line empasizes the stress and eat-drink-and be-merry aspect of an RAF pilot's life in August 1918.

The best thing about it is the short sound bites from worthies like Brad King and our own Alex Revell. You don't get too much more authoritative than Alex !!

Thanx Greg. Sorry to learn this isn't a new effort. Mainly I recall the dweeb Camel pilot with that pointy helmet.
Now...A Day In The Life of Charles Nungesser would be MUCH more interesting...
