Esoterica Dept: Is it St. Patty or St. Paddy? The former seems strictly correct but sounds, well, effeminate! An' shore 'n' begorrah, Himself was not!

Patty is the diminutive of Patrick. Paddy is a semi-derisive term for an Irishman. And Saint Patrick was not Irish.

And while I bow to your superior knowledge of the origins of the name ducks, as I stated before, Saint Patrick was an Anglo-Saxon missionary to the Celtic pagans of Ireland. Ergo, he was not Irish at all. Nevertheless, the Irish have cloven to him as their patron...something to do with snakes or NYPD patrolmen....

So as you see, there be nothing to ruffle your feathers about.

Why, you're right, Andrew. Of course, I made a deal with my doctor that I would not indulge in an excessive fashion except for this day.

But again, you are right, and I am happy that you reminded me!

This year we will also be sampling John Jameson's 12 year blended.
