Captain Brown and his mate Wop May

I was reading up on a discussion about the fall of MvR on this website and in the book Under the Guns of the Red Baron. It got me thinking about became of Roy Brown and Wop May ( the one who became 81.... i think it is may). i was thinking about scores and careers. i believe May said that the only reason he got away from MvR is because of his poor flying, but did it improve?

does anyone have any thoughts?
cheers
Phil

Guess it must have. Post-war Wilfrid May became quite a famous Alaska bush pilot. R.

If his flying didn't improve, his shooting did. By the end of the first nastiness he'd claimed 13 victories, of which 9 appear in the RAF Communiques.

Actually Wop May was an Albertan bush pilot. I doubt he ever flew beyond the NWT.

Here's Brown's entry on this site: Arthur Roy Brown.

By the by: Brown addressed my father's cadet class at NAS Corpus Christi in 1943. Dad doesn't remember what Cap'n Brown said, but of course he was introduced as the pilot WKTRB...
