Hi

I am searching information regarding two different Hptm Walters who both served within the German Air Force in 1918...

The first Hptm Walter served originally within IR 131 and was promoted already before the War, on 1 Oct 1913...
He is probably the Hptm Walter who started the War as commander of FFA 26...!

The second Hptm Walter served originally within FuAR 13, and he was promoted Oblt on 22 Mar 1915 and exactly three Years later to Hptm...

Anyone who has further information on these men..??

Hi Gunnar:

I found a Hauptmann "Walther", commander of Ft. Abt. 26 around 1914. Was trained as an observer, not a pilot.

The name sounds familiar, so my apologies if I've already replied in the past about this name.

Cheers, Amy

Thanks again Amy

Your Hptm Walther is with certainty Hptm Walter. The information that he was observer was new....

Regarding the "familiar", You probably think about an earlier thread about Hptm Wagner x 3...?
