Hi

I am searching for information on a loss: Gefr. Hans Kamper (Kasta 24/ Bogohl 7) was killed the 8th April 1918. I have got a picture showing 'his' plane that obviously burnt. In the background an other Gotha/ Friedrichshafen-bomber is visible - and likewise crash landed.

I have found no other Boghol loss (not even injured) for that day. How can give me a clue what happened that day?

Thorsten

Hi Thorsten

The losses from the different BogOHLs are often very tricky to "verify" in detail. Firstly because they were OHL units and because of that actually could be omitted in weekly Kofl reports.

The other important factor is that they mostly did fly during the night, so in this case, is it the night 7-8 Apr or 8-9 Apr...??

I dont have the weekly Kofl 2 for this period, but the NB (Nachrichtenblatt) for the 7 Apr 1918 "might" give a clue, as it reported as follows...

..."furthermore was one a/c lost due crash and one a/c burned up by landing, besides were one pilot killed and three crew wounded"

Is it anyone out there in the World who have the weekly Kofl 2 report for this week...??
