I am seeking information about the crash of Lt Kurt Dobberstein and Gefr. Paul Woerner, crew of a two seater of FAA 233 killed by accident after hitting the cable of a balloon over the own lines. This happened on September 11, 1917 in Langenhoek (Dixmuide area). I would like to know more about the context of the accident and if possible, the a/c type and hour of the crash...

Did the war journals of this unit survive?

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

M.

Hello Marco,

as far as I know, the war diaries of FAA 233 did not survive...

Can't help you with the exact hour of the crash. The grave of Lt.Dobberstein is on the german war grave cemetery in Vladslo.
