Hi,

looking on different pictures of German units I sometimes find numbers on their sleeves. But not everybody had them? Was there a regulation? And how could one distiguish Jasta 38 from FA 38 from FFA 38??

My Gallery
frontflieger:
I have tried to research this but I have come up zero. From what I understand, those Fliegertruppe personal that were members of the original four Luftschiffer and three Fliegertruppen Bataillons when mobilized in August 1914 could wear grey oval patch with the number of the activated unit in red? on their left upper sleeve. Inasmuch as there were no Jasta when the Fliegertruppen Bataillon were activated. On the epaulet on the shoudlers were a red winged propeller centered and the Bataillon number at the outer edge of the epaulet.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
