Lt. Dawson of the U.S. 94th Aero Squadron flew a shamrock-bedecked SPAD XIII, when the 94th adopted colorful livery just after the war. I think they were based in Germany at the time.

Here's a paper model representation of Lt. Dawson's airplane to at least give you an idea. I remember photo and drawing documentation of this scheme in a Cross & Cockade article from the late 70's/early 80's on the 94th's Show Birds.

Yes, thank you for the correction Green Knight. A SPAD it is (or was). And I think I can get the local printshop to print the decal for me on a blank decal sheet. I'll have them make some small enough to fit on the side of an Alb.D.III. Thanks Paolo.
