Forumites,
I have been asked for any infos about FFA 64 by a friend from Hamburg. FFA 64 was stationed at the Eastern fornt, but virtual nothing is known ( or, better, published) about any details.

Any help out there?

Thanks,
Hans

Hi Hans

I only have little information on this unit but "perhaps" the observer Lt Oskar Kuppinger has left any material..?, like in the Ferko collection..?
I knew that some articles are published about him but havent seen any yet about his 13 months within FFA 64..

I also like to have more information on this unit, like when their first commander Hptm Walter Pohl(O) left his command..?

I have notes about seven different airfields where they were stationed on the Eastern front..

:-/

Hi Hans,

I have now announced me in the Aerodrome Forum. Thank you that you have posted my question over the FFA 64.

Hi Gunnar,

Thank you for your answer, now I knew the first name of Hptm. Pohl.
At the Book “Schlachten des Weltkriegs 1914-1918 Band 2 Baranowitschi 1916” Hptm. Pohl is mention as Commander from FFA 64 in summer 1916.
Unfortunately I know nothing over Hptm. Pohl after the summer 1916.

If you can help me with the airfields where the FFA 64 was stationed, I am very happy.

The FFA 64 flew august 1915 reconnaissance against Iwangorod, but from witch airfield?
In the summer 1916 FFA 64 was stationed anywhere by Baranowitschi.

In the Moment I wait on the Cross &Cockade V19 and I hope there is a little from FFA 64 in the Articles from Lt. Oskar Kuppinger.

If anybody knew something over the FFA 64, I am very happy over every help.

Klaus

Hello Klaus

I am 98 % sure that Pohl first name was Walter, but not 100 % because there were several candidates with the same last name ...

Here are some loose notes of their airfield that I have:

Kicli S Poland 515 to late0815
Radom late0815
Zelechov
n Siedlce
Kamena Wolka-Wierpole
Rozana mid0915
Slonim 1015
Baranowitschi (517)
Awoingt mid0717 to 1017
Wynghene 161017 to 151117

The three last airfields after been renamed FA 32.

Hi all,

let me just add that FFA 64 belonged in 1915 und 1916 to Landwehrkorps Woyrsch (later Armeeabteilung Woyrsch).
Hauptmann Walter Pohl later became leader of FAA 267.
