Georg Olefele

I am looking for some more info about Georg Olefele.

What I know:

- He was awarded the Pilot badge, Iron cross 2. and 1. class.
- He was in the Jagd Staffel 12.
- He was shot down in aerial combat over france, 22 July 1917.
- He was 21 years old when he died.

Anything info could be interesting!!

Best regards

Soren Nielsen

Oefele only scored a single victory, on14Jul17, an FE 2b at 16.50 hours over Boursies. And yes, this would be a pretty typical service for a mechanic who later trained to be a pilot and eventually served in a Jasta. Note that he really only served in three front line units, the rest of his time was spent either in training or briefly at an AFP awaiting posting to his new assignment. R.
