Crash Site Monuments?

I am curious to know if there are any monuments to where pilots fell or plaques that mark out their crash site. I heard that Albert Ball has a monument where he died and many others are buried where they fell (known and unknown – Werner Voss for example).

Thank you for any information

MvR's crash site is marked at the side of the road, at the field where he went down. The same type of marker plaques are also at Bertangles, Fricourt, and at Cappy
I hope the pic comes through alright

There is a monument near Stonehenge at what is now known as Airman's Corner.
In July 1912 Captain E.B. Loraine and Staff Sergeant R.H.V. Wilson lost their lives in a Nieuport monoplane which crashed at this site. A stone cross was erected there to their memory (grid ref: SU098429).

Cheers
Dominic

There is a roadside monument to Frank Luke Jr. in Murvaux, France, a few hundred yards from the site of his death.

I'd like to know, who is *responsible* for this/ these monument(s)? 10 years ago - when I made a bicyle trip there - there was nothing to be seen.

As I recall, the people responsible are the local tourism board in Picardy (the Somme) or Amiens

Must have been a response to many coming over to France and not finding such things.

The Cappy aerodrome marker however is in the wrong place according to 'Airfields and Airmen'. It should be another field to the south

... It would be polite I you would add the source of "your" images on "your" website... e. g. in case they are taken from other homepages

Best regards

Dear Frontflieger

please do not misunderstand the "my" in my text. I do not consider them as "mine" in the way that I produced them. I just want to share all those beautiful photos with other interested people on this forum. I've been having this photos for a long time, so I really can't remember which site they are from, therefore, it would be exhausting and useless work to mention any sites, though I am very grateful to those people who make these precious archives available to the public.
