By the way, what ranks had these people while flying the planes we are speaking of?

Flt Lieutenant Harold Thomas Mellings
Flt Lieutenant Forster Herbert Martin Maynard
Flt Lieutenant Charles Dawson Booker

Where they Flt Lieutenant? And does it mean Fleet Lieutenant? In the Ranks dsection here I just read plain Lieutenant for Royal Navy...

Andrea,

Flt Lt means Flight Lieutenant in the RNAS to distinguish them from "normal" Naval Lieutenants serving on a ship.

Great... I just guessed the opposite way, to distinguish them from RFC Lieutenants!

Bad thing, my lack of studies and education... Thanks for putting some remedy to it!
