Smile Leutnant zur See Walter Friedensburg?

Hi All!!
In the year 1931, it arrives in Venezuela a German Aeronautical mission, this mission was commanded by Walter von Fridemburg (I don't know if this well written one, because in he also appears as Walter von Frinderburg) the mission was two years in the country.
It is also mentioned that he was veteran of the Great War.
Does some reference of its participation exist in that conflict?
I have this seemed name:
Leutnant zur See Walter Friedensburg. Flugzeugführer, Flandern
Is it the same person?
Grateful of their comments.
Dario

Friedensburg

Hallo Freund Hal.
Thanks, interesting answer.
Do you have more details about this pilot?
I am interested in info or images of him.
I attach two photos, poor quality, known in Venezuela of Friedensburg, in one of them maybe with uniform of the Second World War.
In the other one he appears with white suit in front of a famous hydroplane Junker (W34?) "Bolívar."
I hope you can help me in this respect.
Greetings.
danke.
Dario

Hi

Friedensburg is also "historic" in that he (together with Walter) was the first flyer to score a victory for the German Marine Air Force...!

Hello.
Gunnar you have details of the victories of Friedensburg?
Maybe what airplane flew? Personal marks?
Pictures of him exist during the Great War?
VonReichel if you want it I can send the images (They are of poor quality) to their email.

Hi Dario

I havent laid much resources yet to find out specfic information about Friedensburg or the units which he served within. But as he served nearly the entire War as pilot he "most" exists on several photos...and probably he did fly at least 50 different a/c during these years..

The fact that he become "famous" already at an early stage of the War also make it possible that the circumstances around the victory also exist on paintings...

On 17 Apr 15 he together with Ob.Mtr Werner Walter (O) did attack an enemy U boot in beta 130, and they were able to "sank" it through a direct hit by a bomb...!
The success led to an "Annerkennung" (special recognition in military) on 1 May 15. It also led to the award of EK I for Friedensburg on 5 May 15 while Walter received the EK II the same day. Later in 1917 both received the Ehrenpreise but Walter had killed meanwhile...They did not score any further victories...

I havent checked up the a/c they flew, but shortly earlier they had been flying Nr 53.
