Great!!!
Sometimes the Rank Lists made "little goofs" and unless somebody has ALL of them.... I once lost 15 years on identifying a naval officer because... I looked in 1926 and NOT also in 1931!!!
How is the Bavarian Kriegsarchiv to deal with these days? I used to get information all the time back in the
(gulp!)
1980s (Archivdirektor Dr. Heyl, back then, always nice to correspond with in What Computers? Days), when they would cheerfully copy Auszüge aus der Kriegsranglisten for me on REGULAR officers but NOT on dR officers!
Not a flyer, but infantry Oberleutnant dR Friedrich Lautenschlager (born 24.
1. or 24.
12.-- both ways on two different documents!) 1885 has been driving me crazy all these years. He served in Inf Rgt 11 (17.9.14-EK2) and Inf Rgt 21 (3.10.18--EK1) but was "Leutnant dR aD" in 1915. I got the WW1 Regimental History of Bavarian IR 21 and... no mention of him. I have never been able to FIND one for IR11. MVO4X 1.8.15 (LtdR aD), black wound 9.9.18,
Rentamtsassessor Neunberg vorm Wald in 1914, Regierungsrat iR 1935 (Hindenburg Cross), Major dR zV 1943 (KVK2X).
It is frustrating to know that information exists but that it is SEALED!
