An Bavarian observer..?

Hi

I am interested to find more information about the observer Lt dR x Weckherlin..!
I only have some fragmentary information about him, like that he probably served within KG 6 (exact unit unknown) in 1916.
In the spring of 1917 he served in FAA 293b, and was perhaps Adjutant in the unit..?

However, he later went over to the German Marine Air Force, but also here I have rather vague information...like that he was posted from LFA (probably Johannisthal) to II SFA* (See Flieger Abteilung) on 4 Jan 18.
Shortly afterwards he was posted further as Melde Offizier to Kofl Station N, where he served at "least" from Mar 18.
He stayed in that position until 24 Sep 18 when he was posted "back" to an Bavarian unit (FEA 1b)...

Anyone out there who have his first name or any kind of added information..?

*II SFA is the "overall" unit for "all" sea flying units in the Western hemisphere, but it was also a stab unit..

Weckherlin

Gunnar,
I have only little parts of infos about Lt.d.R. Weckerlin:

Leutnant der Reserve
Josef Weckherlin (16.bIR)
* 13.07.1887

00.00.1916 bay. Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 1 Schleißheim
00/03/1916 Armee-Flug-Park 6a
28/03/1916 bay. Kampfgeschwader 6b Kampfstaffel 34b
01/09/1916 bay. Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 1 Schleißheim

But I hope to find more in the Kriegsarchiv in munich.

Thanks again Reinhard

Exactly the information I wanted...

There were several flyers with Bavarian origin who served within the German Marine Air Force. Perhaps I can help you with some small additional information regarding their activities within the Marine if you have a question about a specific flyer...!?
