Well alan, I once read in the book," The Aces", that some pilot shot down four Fokker D.VII's in the same. The author I think said it was 2 days before the end of the war.

I believe the last allied pilot to be shot down was Francis Ryan Smith 2 AFC on the 10 of November 1918 in a fight with a Fokker D.VII.But I might be wrong.

From what I've read it seems as if the number of air ops on the German side really dropped off in the last three weeks of the war. In the case of JG1, they were retreating and having to get used to new airfields and there were also problems with obtaining gasoline.

Your Welcome! The pilot I was talking about came by the rank and name of Captain White, don't remember the first name.

bad Weather on the War's Last Days
Dear Alan, I just finished the book "Hunting in Flanders with the Red Flyer," (forgive my bad translation) and it said that during the last week of the war the flying weather was particularly bad and that the Flying Circus was severely limited on the number of patrols it could perform due to the German Army's retreat and dwindling fuel stocks. As I recall the last victories were scored on either the 7th or 8th of November. VR, Roadhog
