Nitpick that one!

Personnally I think Warneford deserved a VC and bar for dropping a bomb onto a giant bag of Hydrogen, it's a bit like dropping a grenade down your pants to kill crabs!!

Got me. I really just wanted to use your big writing facility. I wonder what the folk living beneath the Zeppelin thought of a bloke dropping bombs in it. Not all of them would have exploded in mid air.

For my money, THE classiest aerodrome attack was logged by Sgt. Tom Mottershead, who reportedly landed his FE-2 on a German field and had his gunner shoot up the flight line & hangars--then took off. Mottershead received a posthumous VC for pulling his gunner out of a burning Fee but maybe he shoulda had two Crosses!
